Question: WHY SHOULD I GET MY CAT/DOG/RABBIT NEUTERED? Answer: One un-spayed female cat and one un-neutered male cat and their offspring results in approximately 420,000 kittens in 7 years. Animals will mate instinctively whenever they get the chance. Besides removing the ability to reproduce, neutering a male cat will result in behavioural changes that will improve the cat's health as well as making him a better pet. Spaying your female cat will save you from the worry and hassle of finding suitable and safe homes for kittens that you don't want to keep. There are literally millions of unwanted animals in shelters across the UK and overseas, so please don't contribute to this sad and unnecessary situation.

Question: WHY SHOULD I ADOPT AN ANIMAL RATHER THAN BUYING ONE FROM A BREEDER OR PET SHOP? Answer: Buying an animal from a breeder or pet shop simply perpetuates the 'trade' in pet animals. The Sanctuary Angels believe that the pet trade is more about profit than it is about either the animals or their prospective owners. On the contrary, rescue organisations and shelters have the animals' (and potential owners') best interests at heart, and will perform thorough checks to ensure that animals are placed in safe hands and will be suited to potential owners.

Question: WHY SHOULD I MICROCHIP AND INSURE MY COMPANION ANIMAL? Answer: Microchipping your animal gives you peace of mind in the event that your animal should go missing, and it will greatly increase the chances of you being reunited with your beloved pet. Insuring your companion animal is not expensive and can save you literally thousands of pounds should your animal become ill or be involved in an accident.

Question: I'M HAVING A BABY AND I'M WORRIED THAT MY CAT/DOG WILL HARM THE BABY. SHOULD I GET RID OF IT? Answer: No! There is no need, if you are sensible and follow some very simple and straightforward guidelines. In fact, the benefits to children growing up with animals outweigh any risks (which are minimal if the situation is handled correctly). There are links to two excellent and level-headed articles on this subject on the Links page under Useful Information.

Question: WHY DO YOU HAVE LINKS ON YOUR WEBSITE TO VEGAN RESTAURANTS AND CRUELTY-FREE COMPANIES/ORGANISATIONS? Answer: The Sanctuary Angels believe in the bigger picture. As well as promoting animal rescue/adoption and neutering, we also try to educate people about the joys of a more cruelty-free lifestyle and how this naturally fits in with campaigning for animal welfare. We believe in veganism/cruelty-free products etc. for health, the environment and animals and we are happy to tell you more about how easy it is to make simple switches in your life that will make all the difference to thousands of animals.
