Financial support

Support-your-local-animal-shelter[1]_2.jpg

You can make a donation directly to any of the rescue groups listed on the Links page (simply click on the link for your chosen beneficiary to take you through to their website). You can also donate via Paypal to the Sanctuary Angels if you are not sure which organisation to support. We are in contact with a large number of small-scale rescue groups and we keep abreast of urgent appeals for funds via social networking sites so you can rest assured that we will ensure your donation is put to very good use. Any donations received can either be earmarked for a particular sanctuary/rescue group or we can recommend one and ensure the money is forwarded (you will receive a receipt). Any donations for general purposes will be used to help the Sanctuary Angels continue to raise awareness/educate about animal cruelty/rescue/responsible pet ownership/neutering and to continue providing a networking/small-scale rescue/fundraising resource.

Practical support

The problem of unwanted and abandoned companion animals and birds applies to cats, parrots, dogs, horses, donkeys, rabbits, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils; sadly the list goes on... Whatever animal you would like to share your life with, there are always thousands looking for a loving, safe home at a shelter near you. Rescued animals bring great joy to a home as they never forget what you have done for them! Please adopt a rescue animal rather than compounding the problem by buying from a breeder or pet shop. Please visit our Homes Needed page to see a small selection of animals needing homes urgently.

Top tips

• Do not buy from breeders or pet shops • Adopt an animal from a sanctuary or rescue centre • Neuter, microchip and insure your companion animal • Ensure that you can properly care for the animal, providing food, shelter, exercise, veterinary treatment, play, time and lots of love.
