BEDFORDSHIRE
Not content with trapping, neutering and rehoming Patch and Dumpling, we've also managed to trap the colony kitten (born summer 2011), who we named Pudding, spayed and delivered the little beauty to her new (domestic) home in Hunts. She has been renamed Lily and is doing really well.

BEDFORDSHIRE
The Sanctuary Angels were finally successful in trapping Patch and Dumpling (neutered earlier in the year but no homes were available at the time) from our beautiful feral colony in Sandy, Bedfordshire. They have been relocated to a small farm in King's Ripton, Hunts, where we hope they will enjoy their new life, which should provide a combination of freedom and also regular food and a warm place to sleep at night. We're delighted that they've been homed together as they are sweethearts! Thanks once again to St Neots CPL for helping us with this.

 November 2011
THAILAND
The Angels sent £25 to the Soi Dog Foundation (www.soidog.org), who work to help dogs and cats in Thailand. They are currently undertaking lifesaving work to help animals affected by the floods in Thailand.

DUNSTABLE
The Sanctuary Angels reunited Roxy, a beautiful female staffordshire bull terrier (see photo gallery), with her owners. Having escaped from her home, Roxy found her way to our fundraising stall in town. We bought a lead from a nearby shop (she was only wearing her collar and no identity tag) and walked her to the nearest vet's surgery to have her scanned for a microchip. Luckily she was microchipped, so she was reunited with her family within a matter of hours. The moral of the story: please get your animals microchipped!!! It is a lifesaver if your beloved animal goes missing/escapes/gets lost.

 March 2011 onwards
SANDY
The Sanctuary Angels are in the process of trapping, neutering and releasing a colony of feral cats living on an industrial estate in Sandy, Bedfordshire. We are working with two sisters who have a business on the estate and who have been tirelessly feeding these wonderful cats for at least three years. We are grateful to the Cats Protection (Sandy and St Neots branches) for their invaluable help and neutering vouchers. You can see photos of the cats we have neutered so far in the Photo Gallery.

 17 July 2010
CAMBRIDGESHIRE
St Neots' first ever Cruelty-free Fundraising Day for Animals on 17 July was a resounding success. The total raised was an amazing £1,990. Despite two short downpours around lunchtime, the 150 brave souls who turned up were not to be put off enjoying all that was on offer and spending money to help animals. The highlights of the afternoon were the vegan barbecue (which carried on even during the downpours!); the vegan wine bar; the Healing Tent (which offered reiki, reflexology, Indian Head and aromatherapy massage, tarot and runes and was fully booked very quickly) and the Beauty Tent (Evonne was massaging feet and hands non-stop from start to finish and afterwards, and Ruby was painting nails all day!); and the vegan cookery demo and tasting (delicious spicy lentil and coconut healing soup). The Vegan Vintage boutique (with vegan clothes, beautiful handmade jewellery, books, DVDs and CDs, and plants) was a big hit, as were the most delicious vegan cakes, coffee and ice creams! All of this was accompanied by the soothing music of Stella Hensley and Chris Newman. The £1,990 raised on the day and afterwards has been split between the following: the Sanctuary Angels; New Life Parrot Rescue; the Mama Cat Trust; Stray Cat Rescue and the Naturewatch Sponsor a Ukrainian Dog Appeal. There are more details about all these groups on the Links page. The Cruelty-free Fundraising Day for Animals is set to become a regular event in the Sanctuary Angels' calendar, as it is a fantastic opportunity to open minds to the possibilities of a more cruelty-free life whilst raising vital funds for those rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused and abandoned animals. Watch this space for details of the next one... Finally, the Sanctuary Angels would like to thank all those who helped to make the day such a success. We would also like to mention the following groups/companies, who either donated fabulous cruelty-free raffle prizes or vouchers or provided us with literature and goody bags to give to people: Lush; Beauty without Cruelty; Neal's Yard Remedies; Marks & Spencer; Love Thy Makeup; Montagne Jeunesse; Naturewatch; Redwoods; Goodness Direct; Veggieworld. For a selection of photos of the day (kindly taken by Jeremy Owen), please see the Photo Gallery.
